Leica Ultravid 8x42 BL

Now available with the improved HD focussing system, subject to availability

Now available with the HD improved focussing system, though not with the AquaDura coating on the outside leatherette. (The Ultravid HD rubber armouring is also AquaDura coated). This upgraded model has just been released from July 2008. This is a genuine bargain!

The new Ultravid line of binoculars have significant improvements over the existing Trinovids, all of which will be welcomed! The 8x42 and 10x42 BL's are available in an exquisite black leatherette version. (The BL is supplied with a Leica Cordura Carrying Case).

The all-new body shell is made of lightweight but sturdy magnesium, and is slimmer in size than the current BN range. The hinge shaft has been replaced with a new light weight titanium version. The prisms are also coated with the new Leica Highlux System, which is a newly developed mirror layer. This increases light transmission considerably and gives clearer definition in the distance. In addition, the improved optical and mechanical configuration markedly reduces stray light.

Naturally, these binoculars are dry nitrogen filled, waterproof to 5m and have a close focus of c.3.1m. These and other sophisticated refinements quickly make it obvious why the Ultravid line represents a new class of binocular.
